Our Mission

for the ocean, the reefs & the islands

The Global Ecology Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit based in Ocean View on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. We work to protect the living ocean — the coral reefs, sea turtles, monk seals and humpback whales that make these islands extraordinary — and the native forests and watersheds that keep our shorelines healthy.

Our work is hands-on and local: shoreline and reef clean-ups, habitat restoration, community education, and support for rescued and endangered animals across the Big Island.

Every membership and every donation goes directly toward conservation work in Hawaiʻi. We are volunteer-run — there are no salaries and no offices, just people who love this place.

Global Ecology Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization (EIN 45-3503202) and a Hawaii domestic non-profit corporation. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
